Known only to European during sixteenth century, is now famous in whole world for it remarkable underwater marine life. Papua New Guinea has become phenomena worldwide for scuba diving. But it is still less crowded by the tourists as it interior transportation is still developing. Most of the places can’t be reached by roads or by flights, but only possible by trekking. New Guinea is home for more than thousand tribes and seven hundred different languages are spoken here. So the isolation from the world helps these cultural inhabitants to preserve their traditional culture and customs. It also holds some memories of World War II too.
Papua New Guinea is a nation in the Oceanic. The country is not limited by the borders of land, the oceanic is vast arbitrarily connected by the beautiful coconut palm trees, beaches, corals and reefs, lagoons and rose from the volcanic eruption ashes in between blue sea water turned into magnificent natural world. It’s a beautiful country consisting of fifteen islands and blend of scenic highlands, mountain ranges, flourishing by the green vegetation and wildlife with underwater marine life and corals. The inhabitants’ ethnicity is another attraction, which you will come across as you land here.

The place is more famous scuba diving. The islands here offer varieties of coral and reefs that are rare and some are unnamed. The country has been recommended by
Reader Choice Magazines and been nominated by the scuba divers to experience the some great view of various beautiful coral and reefs. You will also get to see World War II wrecks remnants i.e. air crafts, ships, submarines, etc. Some of the good spots to visit and see theses depressing wrecks yet beautiful view are; Rabaul, Kavieng, Loloata (Port
Moresby) and Madang. At Madang, you will get to see about thirty five Japanese fighter planes. These ruins are in good condition some not too far from seashore, some decorated by the corals and reefs, the whole view is so beautiful and colorful, that will leave you mesmerized.
There are few organized liveaboard which will take you to tour on some great diving spots. Some of them include; Tania’s reef, it has a huge outstanding mount of corals about one hundred and forty feet under water to eight feet from the surface. It is also home for some clams and turtles. Cobb’s cliff, here except for the colorful corals and reefs you get to see large Pelagic such as Manta rays and hammerhead sharks and also some macro fishes such as leaf scorpion fish, Rhinopious, Blue Ribbon Eels, Elegant Fire Goby and many more. A Wahoo Point you will see whale sharks, Minki whales and orcas, other than mammals it has great variety of large elephant ear sponge and Barracudas and marine photographers will leave with enthralling photos of the place and a sense of satisfaction. The Cherie’s reef is a drift dive which offer slopes enclosed by attractive Gorgonians and many small colorful fish beautifies the Gorgonians. Then there is little china which has coral garden, Observation point where you can dive into caves, Michelle reef, and Crinoids city – city of black coral trees.
More than thousand cultural groups and seven hundred different languages and spoken here. This country is so culturally diverse so you will find different form of arts, music, dance, costumes, architecture, and weaponry which are distinct in their own way.
Being cultural diverse the country possess many attractive festivals. One of the festivals which are colorful and
enjoyable is Tumbuna Sing Sing. In this festival, all different tribes come together in their traditional costumes, singing and dancing together, enjoy the unity between them. Mount Hagen Cultural Show is also another festival famous in Papua New Guinea highlands which is held in August. A festival in which people dress up and paint themselves as their clans or group.
Country is rich in culture and environment. You will never regret coming here except for traveling in interior of the regions. The country has promising hiking, scenic volcanic mountains, beaches surrounded by the coconut palm trees, some rare species of animals and marine life and much more. Only one thing is right saying about this country is that ‘The untouched land’.
