Paradise of Guam calls you!



Guam is known for its beautiful scenery and because of its tropical location; the climate is favorable all year around. It is the biggest island in Mariana Islands chain and also in Micronesia. Like most of the inlands in the pacific sea, Guam also have the same sceneries; white dazzling sand beach surrounded by the coconut palm trees and some great spot for scuba diving, a great place to visit and relax with family! Then what’s so unusual of the island that will catch your attraction? Well this land has a long war scarred history of the world which most of the people still remember and wish it would had never happened. Yes, it has some tanks, war machines used during World War II. In 1941, Japanese invaded here and after the Pearl Harbor, American fought with Japanese and took over the country. So now, the country is unincorporated country of United States, became tourist destination for it sceneries, marine life, and well guam micronesiapreserved the memory of victory of America which can be seen as weapons maintained where they were previously.

The whole island measures approximately five hundred and forty nine square kilometers and it is encircled by the coral reefs. As the island is volcanic origin, it is full of mountains and hills with lush vegetation which descends towards untouched beautiful glittering clear sea water surrounding island in all direction.

Before Japanese’s invasion, Guam has long history of Spanish ruling the island for three hundred and thirty three years. Hagatna, capital of Guam, has many historic building which were made in this era. You will also find remnant of Chamorro period whose culture is still being followed by the people of Guam but it with time much of the things have changed.

Well scuba diving is done among tourists here as it is beside deepest ocean trench, around the island you will get see very different marine animals and treat to eyes is already surrounding the island – corals and reefs! But the best spotTumon bay for scuba diving is Tumon bay which is ahead of Hagatna coast. It is also one of the favorite tourist destinations. Towards south, their great places to go hiking on the mountains and to the north are many fantastic cliffs.

Nano Fall Botanical Gardens is situated in Agat where one day picnic should be done. The place is just not botanical garden but there you can do swimming in flowing Nano River. There are other two botanical garden too, namely – Inarajan Shore Botanical Garden to south coast of the island and Pineapple Plantation in Yigo.

The soldiers and people who died in World War II are still being remembered. In Yigo for remembrance they have build South Pacific Memorial Park and another site where war was carried on is turned into Pacific National Historical Park which has weapons; tanks, machine tanks etc, they still haven’t moved another place. There is museum too with war photos and remnants of war and one section is kept for the Chamorro culture.

Latte ParkThere are many exotic beach parks in Guam you can visit are Latte Park which is situated just below Kasamata Hill; Merizo Pier Park it’s a resort surrounded by the Lagoon and also official place for Merizo water festival. For the waves lover there is place called Talofofo Bay which is called surfers paradise and another place is the ancient settlement of Chamorro which was later turned into penal and leper colony. Now its Guam’s most admired recreational place.

Exploring the beaches and ocean will bring you many surprises! The most liked diving spot are the wrecks of the World War II. The reefs and marines flora and fauna have built their home on it, enhancing the beauty of the depressing wrecks. There are even night diving organized by the resorts so check it out. As in the night, most of the corals which hide in day light come out in night falls its darkness. Go to islands shallow bays where dolphin inhabits.

Airport:

Antonio B Won Pat International Guam Airport is the major airport in Guam country. It is just seven miles away from the city.

By Sea:

Apra Harbor is the main port in Guam. This port is the main port because its southernmost island in Mariana islands so mostly it’s the stopover of many cruise ships.

By Car:

Well there aren’t many roads in interior region of the island. And roads which are available are always congested and in rainy it turns slippery.

By Bus:

There aren’t buses on this island but you will find commercial tourist buses but the frequency of the bus is very bad.

Guam is a traveler’s paradise because it is blessed for natural beauty. It promises you a wonderful beach holiday experience and family time. Great place to relax and forget all worries of the world which rest on your shoulder. Just lay back and enjoy here!
